Istituto di Moda Burgo

Founded in 1961 by publisher Fernando Burgo, Istituto di Moda Burgo has more than 60 years of teaching experience in the fashion and made-in-Italy industry. These years of experience have led to the refinement of a teaching system based primarily on practice, with workshops, projects and collaborations, innovative methodologies, books and programs that are considered a benchmark for other schools both in Italy and the rest of the world.

Commitment and passion have always been the hallmark of the institute’s work thanks to its director, who has passed on his love for this work to his staff and teachers. The most important achievement is given by the fashion companies that find in the institute the best reference for recruiting new players in the fashion field.

The institute’s courses are aimed at students who wish to confront the fascinating world of fashion for the first time or who want to specialize, but also at experts in the field who seek a professionalizing update. In the Rome headquarters, open since 2017, the educational offerings include three-year courses in Stylist, Fashion Design and Tailoring, recommended for those who aspire to a complete education; Master’s degrees in the main fashion sectors (of three and 10 months, for example in Bridal Dress Design, Sewing and Embroidery, Haute Couture, Jewelry Design, Theater Costume Design, Accessory Design); and short courses, for those who want to devote themselves to a specific branch of fashion or who wish to gain further knowledge and refine the skills they have already achieved (e.g., in Swimwear, Lingerie, CAD Computer Patternmaking, Hat Construction, Moulage, Embroidery).

The institute also participates and creates events with leading associations, institutional bodies and fashion houses.
