The Roman Historical Group is the protagonist of this event at the Sacred Area of Largo di Torre Argentina dedicated to the commemoration of the Ides of March of 44 BC. and the assassination of Gaius Julius Caesar at the hands of a group of conspirators led by Brutus, his adopted son.
The event consists of three main scenes: in the first the meeting of the Senate is represented in which Caesar, in the presence of Marcus Antonius, Cato, Cicero, senators and tribunes of the plebs, was declared a public enemy of Rome, if he had not dissolved his legions before returning to Rome. In the second scene, Caesar arrives at the Curia on the day of the Ides and meets the soothsayer Spurinna, who had warned him with the famous warning: "Caesar, beware of the Ides of March!". Having entered the Curia, Julius Caesar is surrounded by conspirators, who stab him twenty-three, killing him.
At this point a funeral procession made up of about 100 re-enactors of the Historical Group leaves from Largo Argentina continuing along Via dei Fori Imperiali, and arrives at the Temple of Divus Julius, inside the Colosseum Archaeological Park. The third and final scene focuses on the orations of Brutus and Marcus Antonius at the end of Caesar's funeral, in the Roman Forum, which inspired Shakespeare for his tragedy Julius Caesar. Caesar's wife, Calpurnia Piso, mourns the death of her beloved.
Thanks to the cultural association of the Roman Historical Group, which for years has been carrying out an activity dedicated to reconstructive events with the utmost fidelity of clothes, equipment, music, accessories, original settings, this evocative event can also be revived in front of our eyes.

Ore 14.00 Nella prima scena verrà rappresentata la riunione del Senato nella quale Cesare, alla presenza di Marco Antonio, Catone, Cicerone, senatori e tribuni della plebe, venne dichiarato nemico pubblico di Roma, se non avesse sciolto le sue legioni prima di tornare a Roma.
Ore 14.20 La seconda scena riproporrà l’arrivo di Cesare presso la Curia il giorno delle Idi e l’incontro con l’indovino Spurinna, che lo aveva messo in guardia con il famoso monito: “Cesare, guardati dalle Idi di Marzo!”. Entrato nella Curia Giulio Cesare verrà circondato dai cospiratori, che lo colpiranno con ventitré coltellate uccidendolo.
Ore 14.45 Un corteo Funebre costituito da circa 100 Rievocatori, partirà da Largo Argentina, proseguirà in via dei Fori Imperiali, e arriverà, alle ore 15.10 presso il Tempio del Divo Giulio, all’interno del parco Archeologico del Colosseo.

Ore 15.15 La terza e ultima scena è incentrata sulle orazioni di Bruto e di Marco Antonio al termine del funerale di Cesare, nel Foro Romano, che ispirò Shakespeare per il suo Giulio Cesare. La moglie di Cesare, Calpurnia Pisone piangerà la morte del suo amato.
