Campionati Italiani Frecciarossa - Roma 2026

The 2026 Frecciarossa Italian Championships for Olympic and Paralympic fencing, the most important event in the national elite fencing calendar this season, return to Rome after ten years to deliver an unmissable spectacle.

On the Pincio Terrace, the Italian titles will be awarded, alongside the final stages of the six days of the Olympic Championships and the gold medal match in the men’s Paralympic foil event.

This highly inclusive edition, featuring a parade of stars, will take place across two venues, including Fiera Roma, which will first host the Italian Under-17 and Under-20 Championships and then the Paralympic competitions, during an extensive programme of events. Fiera Roma will also stage all the preliminary rounds of the individual and Serie A1 team Championships. Then, from the early evening onwards, athletes reaching the medal stages of the Championships will move to the Pincio Terrace for the spectacular finals.

In the heart of Rome, the first athletes to take centre stage at the Frecciarossa Championships will be the men’s and women’s foil fencers on 30 May: from 8 pm, the semi-finals and finals of both individual events will take place. On 31 May, the spotlight remains on men’s and women’s foil, with the gold medal matches in the team competitions, again from 8 pm.

1 and 2 June are dedicated to sabre. From 8 pm, the semi-finals and finals of the men’s and women’s individual events will take place, while from 7 pm on 2 June — the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic — the men’s and women’s team sabre finals for gold will be staged.

Épée completes the trilogy of weapons. On 3 and 4 June at 8 pm, the individual semi-finals and finals, together with the gold medal matches in the team competitions, will take place. On the final day of the event, Paralympic fencing comes to the Pincio Terrace, with the final of the men’s Category A foil event.

The final two days of the Frecciarossa Italian Paralympic and visually impaired fencing Championships will be held entirely at Fiera Roma, which from 28 May will also host all competitions for the Cadet and Youth categories.
