Il Gladiatore - Circo Massimo - 8-06-2018, fdistefano

On 3 and 4 July 2026, the Circus Maximus, the largest ancient theatre, will host Gladiator live in Concert, an unmissable event dedicated to Ridley Scott’s iconic 2000 masterpiece.

Gladiator depicts the story of a Roman general who, after being betrayed, becomes a slave: forced to fight, he turns his pain into a strength to challenge authority and seek justice.

The show is an immersive experience combining cinema and great live music. The famous film, winner of five Academy Awards, will be screened in its entirety in Italian with English subtitles, accompanied by the unforgettable soundtrack, performed live by the Orchestra and Chorus of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, conducted respectively by Ludwig Wicki and Ciro Visco.

With Marco Patrignani as executive producer, Gladiator live in Concert features Lisa Gerrard, the iconic vocalist and co-composer of the original music with Hans Zimmer.
