After celebrating the excellence of Italian craftsmanship in locations such as Taormina, Venice, Naples, Como, Syracuse, Alberobello and Nora, the fashion house founded and led by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana chooses Rome as the new stage of its Grand Tour of Italy, a project inaugurated in 2012 and conceived as a true journey through the many territories of Beauty and the wonders of the Country, to celebrate the Italian cultural heritage in dialogue with the finest sartorial tradition.
The choice of Rome reflects Dolce&Gabbana's desire to weave together the history of Italian haute couture, the local folklore, the majesty of the city, the artistic expressions of the sacred and the cinematographic imagery that has always been linked to the places of the Capital.
- 12 July - International guests will be welcomed with a special inaugural event at Via Veneto, the symbol of La Dolce Vita: between reality and fiction, the magic that made Hollywood stars and great Italian actors dream during the Roman nights of the 1950s and 1960s, comes back to life.
- 13 July - Presentation of the Dolce&Gabbana High Jewellery Collection held at Villa Adriana in Tivoli, the place of the emperor's otium from which it takes its name. Dolce&Gabbana High Jewellery's unique new creations will be unveiled in the evocative Teatro Marittimo.
- 14th July - The Dolce&Gabbana Haute Couture Collection parades in the evening among the glorious ruins of the Roman Forum, the political, economic and religious centre of Rome for much of its history. A symbol of the sacredness of the Empire, it has represented its beating heart since its origins.
- 15 July - Mausoleum, castle, papal residence: from the glories of the Empire to the solemnity of the Vatican, Castel Sant'Angelo is the symbol of Rome's uninterrupted greatness. Here, on Ponte Sant'Angelo, is where the Dolce&Gabbana Haute Couture Collection will parade, under the mysterious gaze of the angels sculpted by Bernini and his workshop pupils.
- 16 July - The programme of events concludes with a final celebration of the flair and craftsmanship expressed by Dolce&Gabbana's unique creations.
The events in Rome, sponsored and realised in close synergy with the Capital's Administration and also thanks to the collaboration with the Ministry of Culture - Department for the Enhancement of the Cultural Heritage and the General Directorate for Museums, in the venues of Villa Adriana Archaeological Park of the Colosseum and Sant'Angelo Castle, are part of a broader project that Dolce&Gabbana dedicates to the Capital and which includes the inauguration of the exhibition Dal Cuore alle Mani: Dolce&Gabbana, scheduled to take place from 14th May 2025 at Palazzo Esposizioni Roma. The exhibition, curated by Florence Müller, which has already been presented at Palazzo Reale in Milan and at the Grand Palais in Paris with enormous success, is an immersive tale of the know-how, creativity and identity of the brand in a multi-sensory itinerary through the Dolce&Gabbana universe, which for the Rome stop will be enriched with new rooms and contents.
