Now in its nineteenth edition, Equilibrio is the festival dedicated to contemporary dance that brings to Rome (at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone and other city venues) the best of international choreography. Rhythm, percussion and live music are the main elements of an edition that aims to be irreverent, pop and militant, to involve both enthusiasts and those entering the world of dance for the first time.
The 2025 program runs for two week (from 10 to 22 February) with the most significant names on the European scene. These include Maud Le Pladec (with “Counting Stars with You”), Trajal Harrell (with “Dancer of the Year”), Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker (with “Il Cimento dell'Armonia e dell'Inventione”), Rachid Ouramdane (with “Contre-nature”), Jesús Rubio Gamo (with “Txalaparta”) and Marco da Silva Ferreira (with “Bisonte”). For the fourth year in a row, the festival welcomes a choreography by Marcos Morau (“Cathedral”), interpreted by the 20-year-old dancers of the Ballet Junior de Genève, who are also involved in a new version of “Turning” by Alessandro Sciarroni.
The festival also renews its collaboration with the Orbita Spellbound season, presenting the works of Luna Cenere (with “Mercurio” at Teatro Biblioteca Quarticciolo and “Vanishing Place” at Sala Petrassi of the Auditorium), Valentina Dal Mas (with “Da dove guardi il mondo” at Sala Petrassi and “Luisa” at Teatro Studio Borgna of the Auditorium) and the Abbondanza-Bertoni company (with “Viro” at Teatro Palladium). Also returning this year is the highly anticipated Night at the Auditorium for girls and children with family shows.
