Artists at Villa Borghese. Series of meetings on Art and Nature

Artisti a Villa Borghese. Ciclo di incontri su Arte e Natura-Foto: Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali

The program of meetings Artists at Villa Borghese. Series of meetings on Art and Nature, promoted by the Capitoline Superintendence of Cultural Heritage, is hosted in two evocative places within the most famous public park in the city: the Casino dell'Orologio - Salone del Pergolato and the Carlo Bilotti Museum - Orangery in Villa Borghese.

The event focuses on contemporary artistic culture, with particular reference to the artistic and naturalistic heritage of the historic urban villas; the invited artists, starting from the themes of Art and Nature, through their languages, aesthetics, styles and personalities, propose a new key to understanding the artistic, historical and naturalistic heritage of the historic Villas, through a different point of view, that of art. Among the main topics addressed there is undoubtedly also that of the environment, increasingly associated with the risks of the planet and climate change.

An unusual cultural perspective therefore, with which artists are invited to dialogue and engage with scholars, scientists and art critics, on different communication levels such as interviews, video installations, slide shows, art actions and conferences.

The program of meetings, all in the afternoon (5.30pm-7.00pm) and curated by Claudio Crescentini, is free entry while places last.

VINCENZO SCOLAMIERO, Thursday 11 July, Casino dell'Orologio of Villa Borghese, Salone del Pergolato. Painter and teacher at the Department of Visual Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, he deals with visual elaborations in symbiosis with natural elements.

LUCA PADRONI, Friday 20 September, Carlo Bilotti Museum at the Orangery of Villa Borghese. From the beginning of his pictorial activity he chose to work on a large scale, developing a special fascination for nature and the animal world.

LUCILLA CATANIA, Friday 27 September, Casino dell'Orologio of Villa Borghese, Salone del Pergolato. His work is animated by the desire to restore a centrality to sculpture with the addition of a social connotation, recovering the relationship between art, nature and territory.

GIUSEPPE SALVATORI, Friday 11 October, Casino dell'Orologio of Villa Borghese, Salone del Pergolato. One of the leading exponents of the return to figurative painting at the end of the seventies, his expressive research was born from a revisitation of Italian art of the first forty years of the twentieth century.

ALBERTO DI FABIO, Friday 25 October, Casino dell'Orologio of Villa Borghese, Salone del Pergolato. His painting draws inspiration from the cosmos and the elements that make up the world of nature.
