WST - World Cup Rome 2026

WST - World Cup Rome 2026

The 2026 Skateboarding World Cup returns to Rome, further cementing the city’s status as a leading international hub for one of the most exciting Olympic disciplines. In the Eternal City, the world’s most urban and youth-driven sport officially begins the Road to LA28 for individual events. Indeed, World Cup Rome is the first global qualifying event of the year on the journey towards the next Olympic Games.

For the sixth time since 2021, Olympic skateboarding arrives in Rome across two of the most renowned skateparks on the international scene. From 7–14 June, the “The Spot” in Ostia will host the Park competitions, while from 14–21 June, the Colle Oppio Playground, set against the unique backdrop of the Colosseum, will stage the Street contests.

The global World Skateboarding Tour community is once again ready to deliver an unforgettable showcase of tricks and talent, with more than 440 athletes competing across the men’s and women’s categories, representing five continents. Over 70 nations will be taking part, while the total number of participants, including teams and officials, will exceed 630 people.

The WST – World Cup Rome 2026 is more accessible than ever for skateboarding enthusiasts, with free admission available at both the Ostia and Colle Oppio venues.

This year’s edition is already shaping up to be a record-breaker, following the outstanding success of 2025, which generated over 30 million views, reached a social media audience of more than 4 million people, and welcomed 12,000 spectators during the competition’s peak days. The event confirmed its status as one of Rome’s most significant sporting occasions of the year.

However, the urban action does not end with the Skateboarding World Cup. Rome will once again take centre stage from 15–20 June, hosting both the Scootering World Cup and the Roller Freestyle World Cup at The Spot in Ostia, further strengthening the city’s role as a global destination for action sports.

The World Skateboarding Tour (WST) represents the official pathway towards the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, providing athletes with opportunities to accumulate points for Olympic qualification.

Rome will welcome many of the biggest stars in world skateboarding. At Colle Oppio, beneath the shadow of the Colosseum, spectators will be able to watch athletes such as Rayssa Leal, Jagger Eaton, Ginwoo Onodera and Ibuki Matsumoto, while The Spot in Ostia will host a stellar line-up including Keegan Palmer, Gui Khury, Pedro Barros, Augusto Akio, Arisa Trew, Sky Brown and Egoitz Bijueska.

Italy, meanwhile, will rely on a compelling blend of established international competitors and emerging young talents. The national Park and Street teams will proudly represent the Azzurri colours through athletes such as Alessandro Mazzara, Alex Sorgente, Ivan Federico, Asia Lanzi, Guglielmo Marin and many others, all eager to make their mark on home soil.

The World Cup Rome 2026 is also committed to sustainability through a comprehensive eco-friendly management model. Initiatives include waste separation and recycling programmes, the use of local suppliers, compostable materials and accommodation solutions designed around a zero-kilometre approach. A key strategic partner is LIME, which will provide electric micromobility services across the event area, helping to reduce environmental impact while improving accessibility.

More than a sporting competition, the Rome World Cup embraces the cultural essence of skateboarding and celebrates its unique international community. Through a wide range of activities designed to create an immersive experience, the event honours skateboarding’s urban roots while highlighting its continuing social and cultural evolution, reinforcing the values that have made the discipline a global phenomenon.

The WST – World Cup Rome 2026 is organised by Skate Italia – Federazione Italiana Sport Rotellistici and Sport e Salute, in collaboration with World Skate, and with the support of the Italian Government through the Minister for Sport and Youth – Department for Sport, together with CONI, Regione Lazio, Roma Capitale and the Città Metropolitana di Roma Capitale.

Please note that the programme is subject to change.
