Santa Maria del Rosario in Prati

Pope Leo XIII (1878-1903), seeing the population increase in the 'Prati di Castello' district, purchased land and instructed the Preaching Friars to erect a church there.

The building, constructed in the early 20th century in neo-Gothic style by architect Giuseppe Ribaldi, was completed between 1912 and 1916. The façade features a beautiful rose window. The central portal features a mosaic in the lunette depicting Christ crowning Mary surrounded by angels. The interior has three naves divided by two-coloured pillars and five arches. The interior paintings are by Giovan Battista Conti.

On the apse altar is a triptych depicting Our Lady of the Rosary; the apse is embellished with three polychrome stained-glass windows that create suggestive light effects. On the counter façade is a mosaic depicting Our Lady of Pompei and a fresco with Mary's Tree of Prophecies.

It has been a parish church since 1912 and is entrusted to the Dominican Fathers.
