The construction of this bridge dedicated to the scientist Guglielmo Marconi started in 1937, the year of his death. Due to World War Two the works were stopped and resumed in 1953. Ponte Marconi is 236 m (262 yd) long and 24 m (26yd) wide and connects the Trastevere Quarter with Ostiense and EUR.
