Built in 1950 in Fiumicino at the end of Via Portuense, the movable Ponte della Scafa owes its name to the big raft called "scafa". The raft was towed with a big rope acting as a ferry connecting the Isola Sacra that belonged to marchesa Guglielmi with the dry land.
