Palazzo Albani del Drago

The palace was the first residence in Rome of the Del Drago family of Viterbo origin, built on several houses purchased in 1557. In the 19th century, the family moved to the palace at the Quattro Fontane crossroads, which belonged to Queen Maria Cristina, wife of Ferdinand VII, King of Spain, but retained ownership of the Palazzo ai Coronari until the mid-20th century. It has an ashlar stucco façade; on the ground floor there is an off-centre portal with rusticated ashlars and a series of shops; on the mezzanine floor there are windows with grilles and a simple frame; on the first and second floors there are nine windows two by two, with architraves supported by corbels on the first floor and arches with architraves on the second floor. The cornice supported by modillions is decorated with rosettes. The palace incorporated the ancient church of S. Salvatore de inversis, already mentioned in a bull by Alexander III in 1177, restored in 1681 by the Vatican canon Mario Del Drago.

The palace cannot be visited.
