Museo del Tesoro della Basilica di San Pietro

The St. Peter's Basilica Museum consists of the exhibition of what is known as St. Peter's Treasure.
Of great historical and artistic interest, it houses sacred vestments, a collection of liturgical furnishings and precious objects offered for devotion to the Vatican Basilica.
Particularly interesting are a ciborium by Donatello, the Monument to Sixtus IV by Pollaiolo, the cross and gilded silver candlesticks by A. Gentili (1582), the Sarcophagus of Junius Bassus (4th century), the Cross of Emperor Justin II (6th century), an historiated dalmatic from the early Middle Ages, a gilded metal rooster (9th century) that adorned the bell tower of the first Constantinian Basilica.
