SANTA MARIA IN TRIVIO It’s one of the most antique churches dedicated to theImmacolata Concezione di Maria Vergine and the name means "Santa Maria all'incrocio-di-tre-strade". It was built according to tradition by Belisario, Giustiniano’s general, during C.VI, to make amends for Pope Silverio’s disposition and rebuilt by Jacopo del Duca in 1575 under Gregorio XIII. The singular travertine façade is rich of mannerist hints in the use of decorations; in addition, there are several fake windows. The interior embodies a single nave with four lateral chapels. The church’s vault is rich of golden stuccos, decorated with important paintings by Antonio Gherardi.
