The parish of St Bartholomew the Apostle is located in the Tomba di Nerone district, in the north-west of Rome, near the GRA and falls within the Western Sector of the diocese of Rome. The area in which the parish of St Bartholomew the Apostle is located is called Monte Arsiccio, after the name of the street that crosses this portion of the Tomba di Nerone district. More specifically, in the area between Monte Mario to the south and Ottavia to the north, at the height of the San Filippo Neri Hospital, between Via Trionfale to the west and the Insugherata Nature Reserve to the east. This parish was erected in 1964, in the centre of a housing conglomerate that sprung up spontaneously in the 1950s and 1960s.The parish that is being redeveloped stands on land donated in the 1950s by a family from the area, and since then it has been the only meeting place for the population of the neighbourhood, which today has about 4,000 inhabitants. The youth reality is quite small, but is concentrated in the use of parish spaces, precisely because of the absence of alternative meeting places. In the premises of St. Bartholomew the Apostle there is a Caritas reception centre run by the parish priest and his collaborators.
