Catacombe di Ponziano

The Ponziano Catacombs are probably named after the owner of the land. The Cemetery had its greatest development in the 4th century. Linked to Abdon and Sennen, two Persian converts who were brought to Rome and killed in the amphitheatre, and to other martyrs (Vincent, Pollion, Candida). It contains paintings from the 6th-7th centuries and a room used as a baptistery.
