Founded in 1936 by Italian writer Silvio D'Amico, drama critic and theorist, the aim of the Academy is the education of drama actors and directors.
The aim of its educational and cultural activity is to promote the traditional theatrical heritage and its renewal through experimentation and search. Every year about 8 shows realized by students are presented to the public.
From the rows of the institute came actors like Anna Locksmiths, Vittorio Gassman, Gianmaria Volontè, Nino Manfredi, Monica Vitti, Giancarlo Giannini.
