Palazzo delle Esposizioni presents the prestigious exhibition dedicated to the famous British photographer, one of the most extraordinary lens artists on the international contemporary scene.
The retrospective, the most important ever held so far, is an incredible overview of the photojournalist's entire artistic journey, from his first works in the 1950s to the war photographs taken around the world and the most recent ones, in a story through images of surprising emotional and visual impact.
Also on display is the series on the remains of the Roman Empire in the southern Mediterranean, started in the 2000s, in which pain and peace, the two elements that have always characterized the artist's photography, are intertwined: the pain of English working classes and wars, and peace, the care that the artist finds in the landscapes of Somerset.
The exhibition is curated by Simon Baker, in close collaboration with Don McCullin, Tim Jefferies and the assistance of Catherine Fairweather and Jeanne Grouet, promoted by the Assessorato alla Cultura di Roma Capitale and Azienda Speciale Palaexpo, produced and organized by Azienda Speciale Palaexpo.
