Starting from the beginning of June, Corpo Libero starts the first edition of the Rome Dance Festival, an absolute novelty in the cultural life of the city, which aims to become a fixed appointment for everyone, not just for dance art lovers.
The program includes a week of free outdoor events dedicated entirely to contemporary dance, with events spread throughout the area in the name of participation, entertainment and sharing. A real extraordinary party that animates the streets, squares, courtyards, parks and gardens of the city from the early hours of the afternoon until evening, with performances, live music shows, social dances, workshops and workshops with free participation, open to all ages.
The event is also an opportunity to remember Ada d'Adamo, dancer, scholar, writer and critic, who recently passed away. A deep connoisseur of cultural processes in the dance field, she has dedicated her life to the study of dance in all its aspects, investigating the paths of many artists.
To celebrate his memory, the Ada d'Adamo Award was established, which is awarded to those who have best interpreted the fusion between artistic experience and social functions and also to those who, more generally, have distinguished themselves in the field of accessibility of languages and the involvement of active or disabled citizens. The jury is chaired by Mario Martone and made up of Miguel Gotor, Leonetta Bentivoglio, Silvia Carandini and Donatella Ferrante.
The event is promoted by Roma Capitale, Department of Culture, with the coordination of the Cultural Activities Department, in collaboration with the Teatro di Roma Foundation, the Institution of the Libraries System of Cultural Centers, SIAE and the National Academy of Dance.
