"Digital Lives": the social, political and moral consequences of artificial intelligence is the theme at the centre of the first Festival of Public Ethics scheduled for May at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone and organized by the Music Foundation for Rome and Luiss Ethos, the Observatory of public ethics of the Luiss Business School.
The three days are opened by the philosopher Sebastiano Maffettone - Director of Ethos - and by the CEO of the Fondazione Musica per Roma Daniele Pittèri and see among the protagonists the keynote speakers Casper Klynge, Microsoft Vice President with responsibility for European government affairs, Mario Rasetti, Emeritus Professor of Theoretical Physics at the Turin Polytechnic and Giuliano Amato, President of the Constitutional Court.
Ten panels related to issues such as social innovation, sustainability, religion and spirituality, war and weapons, robotics, health care, economic development, new educational models, human enhancement and artistic creation with Italian and foreign philosophers, scholars and AI experts, from Paolo Benanti to Derrik de Kherckhove, from Marta Bertolaso to Bruno Siciliano, from Paola Severino to Vincenzo Paglia, from Pietro Labriola to Luigi Nicolais, from Giorgio Ventre to Jeffrey Schnapp, from Andrea Prencipe to Guglielmo Tamburrini to Stefano Songini.
Ethos is a public ethics observatory founded by Sebastiano Maffettone; established in 2019 at the Luiss Business School, it carries out research, consultancy and training activities in different sectors of public ethics. The ethical-political implications of business, medicine, sustainability and artificial intelligence are among the sectors in which Ethos operates, involving some of the most influential personalities of the national and international academic scene.
