Curated by Ernesto Assante, a journalist, music critic and author of a number of books on music published all over the world, the festival organized by the Musica per Roma Foundation is dedicated to new musical proposals and emerging talents.
This year in its eighth edition, the festival has featured dozens of musicians over the years, trying to stimulate the public’s curiosity and give a chance to many interesting young artists. In addition to being a long reconnaissance in what is the music of our days, the most real, free, original, independent music, the festival is a picture of Rome and its new generations, who with creativity, ingenuity and passion make music come alive not only in the recording studios but also in the neighborhoods, cellars and streets of the city, which has returned to the center of the music scene.
Many events are scheduled from 14 January 14 to 27 May. The Teatro Studio Borgna in the Auditorium Parco della Musica will host, for example, Rosita Brucoli and Clavdio (on 23 March), the Italian-French alternative rock band Envoy and Bracci (on 16 April), the Roman band Disco Zodiac and singer-songwriter Boreale (on 26 April) and the Brama collective (on 10 May). On 27 May, the festival will be closed by musician, composer, singer-songwriter and painter Giua, the band Asse and Simone Matteuzzi, a singer-songwriter and musician born in 2001.
