There is a select group of top global hubs, including Seoul, Singapore, Tokyo, Munich and now Fiumicino airport. Rated Europe’s best airport for quality for the past five years, the Roman airport has been awarded five stars by Skytrax, the highest accolade given by the international air transport rating organization, thanks to the company’s commitment to guaranteeing its passengers reliability, safety, comfort and value-added services.
The in-depth analysis conducted during 2022 by independent Skytrax inspectors highlighted excellent standards in the quality of service provided to passengers and staff activity, despite the effects of the pandemic crisis, even during the period of strong traffic recovery. Development investments allowed, among other things, the opening of the new boarding area A for an additional capacity of 6 million passengers, the strengthening of operational services, with new areas reserved for security and immigration controls, and the expansion of the commercial offer, thanks to new shopping and catering areas.
Enhancement of the airport will continue with the upcoming reopening of Pier B in Terminal 1, scheduled for spring, and with new passenger assistance services in the newly renovated baggage claim area in Terminal 3.
