The first Zoomarine was born in Portugal in 1991. In 2005, it opened in Italy, where it was the first edutainment, or educational entertainment, theme park.
In 2009, as the first Italian facility, it received recognition as a Zoological Garden combining entertainment and educational offerings.
Environmental education, scientific dissemination, and research are the cornerstones of its philosophy - to create and share unforgettable experiences in harmony with the environment in a naturalistic context - but Zoomarine is also a place of entertainment, thanks to the presence within it of rides for young and old, 4D Cinema, Swimming Pools, and Aquapark with relaxation areas and refreshment points for all tastes.
In the Park, which has an extension of about 4 hectares, there is The Dolphin Island, The Bay of the Pinnipeds, The Parrot Forest, The Plain of the Raptors, and The Walk of the Small Lakes, zoological areas where you can watch educational animal demonstrations.
Zoomarine is home to more than 400 animal species, including dolphins, seals and sea lions, tropical and aquatic birds, lemurs, giant tortoises, and dogs.
