As part of the celebrations for the Birth of Rome, on Wednesday, April 22, the Guardia di Finanza inaugurates the restoration and redevelopment of Fort Aurelia, in the presence of the General Commander of the Guardia di Finanza, Gen. C.A. Andrea De Gennaro, the Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, the Minister of Culture, Alessandro Giuli, and the Minister of Economy and Finance, Giancarlo Giorgetti.
The Guardia di Finanza is thus returning Fort Aurelia to the capital, with a special opening that includes a guided tour for the public. This is not only an act of monumental conservation and restoration, but also a gift to the citizens during the days when Rome's roots are celebrated.
The complex, one of the 15 forts of the entrenched camp built between 1877 and 1891 to defend the new capital of Italy, has been reborn thanks to the restoration works carried out by the Guardia di Finanza.
