The Parish of the Holy Family is an Ecclesiastical Entity.
The Parish of the Holy Family in Villa Troili was erected with a Decree of January 31, 1962 by H.E.R. Card. Clemente Micara, Vicar of His Holiness for the Diocese of Rome.
The church was built in the years 1953–1956 by the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Holy Family, designed by the engineer Gaetano Gorelli.
On March 9, 1962, H.E. Mons. Ettore Cunial, Vice Gerente, solemnly blessed the Church and consecrated the bells. On March 10, 1962, Fr. Luigi Crippa, Missionary of the Holy Family (MSF), was appointed bursar with the duties of parish priest (on July 22, 1963 he was appointed parish priest). On March 11, 1962, H.E.R. Card. Traglia celebrated Holy Mass in the new Parish.
The parish community, at that time, was made up of 200 families (about 700 people) and the first parish priest, Fr. Luigi Crippa, from 1962 to 1972, worked in the evangelization of the few families scattered throughout the territory. He based his work mainly on the catechism of children, going in person to their homes.
On Sunday, January 27, 1991, the parish community had the joy of welcoming Saint John Paul II, who came for the pastoral visit.
In 1998, the Institute of the Missionaries of the Holy Family donated the parish building to the Opera Romana for the preservation of the faith and the provision of new churches in Rome.
In 1999, the Missionaries of the Holy Family sold their property to the Institute of the Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, a religious institute of diocesan right, based in Rome.
