Campo de‘ Fiori Fountain

Fontana di Campo de' Fiori foto sito romaturismo

The nineteenth-century fountain is in the place of the one built by Giacomo della Porta in 1590 in Campo de' Fiori.

The latter, known as the fountain of the "Terrina", remained in the center of the square, home to the historic city market, until 1889 when it was dismantled to make room for the monument to Giordano Bruno and relocated to the nearby piazza della Chiesa Nuova.

In 1898, on the occasion of the paving of Campo de' Fiori, a new fountain was therefore rebuilt which, fed by Paola water, reproduces the basin designed by Della Porta in size and proportions, but does not have the "lid" of the original fountain.
