It was built to a design by architect Gino Cancellotti.
The church is a parish seat, erected on 1 October 1957 by decree of Cardinal Vicar Clemente Micara Viginti et unum and entrusted first to the priests of the congregation of the Poor Servants of Divine Providence, and then to the diocesan clergy of Rome.
The church has a brick façade divided into three sectors by bands of reinforced concrete. It has a polygonal plan, surmounted by a lantern and flanked by a tall bell tower.
