THE CARE OF THE SOULS AT PRATA PAPI - The vicarage Prata Papi was established on 1 October 1954 by Cardinal Vicar Clemente Micara and declared dependent on the parish of the Holy Family outside Porta Portese.
THE FIRST SEED OF THE COMMUNITY - The first little chapel, in 1954, was situated in the ENAL courtyard in Via Oderisi da Gubbio 51; by Christmas, however, a prefabricated chapel was ready.
PATERNA SOLLECITUDINE - The parish of Gesù Divino Lavoratore was erected by the Cardinal Vicar Clemente Micara on 12th March 1955 with the vicar decree Paterna Sollecitudine and entrusted to the diocesan clergy of Rome.
THE FIRST STONE - On 24th March 1955, the first stone of the church was laid, which was then inaugurated on 15th May 1960 by the Cardinal Vicar Clemente Micara.
GESU` DIVINO LAVORATORE - The idea of the title Gesù Divino Lavoratore (Jesus the Divine Worker) was the brainchild of the first parish priest, Monsignor Francesco Rauti, and met with the approval of Popes Pius XII and John XXIII, who wanted a testimony of the Church's presence in the world of work.
THE STATE RECOGNISATION - Recognition for civil effects of the vicariate provision was decreed by the President of the Republic, Giovanni Gronchi, on 4 October 1959.
THE CARDINAL TITLE - On 22 April 1969, Paul VI instituted the presbyteral title of cardinal in the church.
