Fiumicino Airport: new international routes for 2025

from 20 February 2025 to 31 December 2025

Once again this year, Rome is confirmed as one of the most popular and internationally appreciated tourist destinations. At Leonardo da Vinci Airport, the award-winning and Italy's strategic hub for continental and intercontinental flights, new routes will be inaugurated to meet the growing demand for connections between Rome and the rest of the world:

  • United Airlines is launching a direct Rome-Denver flight that will be operated from 2 May 2025. The US airline will offer over 16 per cent more seats from Rome during the summer peak of 2025, with seven daily flights to the US. The service from Rome to Denver will be operated with Boeing 787-9 aircraft, with a total of 257 seats set up in three classes: 48 business class seats (the United Polaris), 21 in premium economy (the United Premium Plus) and 188 in tourist class. The new route joins the existing routes from Italy to the United States. One flight per day is planned, departing from Fiumicino at 2.20 p.m. and landing in Denver at 5.45 p.m. (local time). The reverse route will take off from Denver at 5:50 p.m. and will arrive in Fiumicino at 12:20 p.m. the following day (local time).
  • EasyJet, the British low-cost airline, on the other hand, has announced five new routes from Rome Fiumicino, with the opening of further slots enabling the company to base three aircraft and around 130 employees at the Roman airport from 30 March, thus making Italy the second largest market after the UK, with a network of 16 routes that will also connect Rome with Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Zurich and Brussels as well as London, Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh, Paris Orly, Nantes, Nice and Lyon, Basel and Geneva and Berlin.
  • Oman Air is doubling down with a new route between Rome and Muscat, which is operated four times a week - every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday - with the aim of enhancing connectivity between Italy and the Middle East and promoting and strengthening economic, cultural and tourism ties between Oman and Italy, guaranteeing passengers direct flights that ensure a smooth and extremely comfortable travel experience. The launch of this new route is a great achievement for Oman Air and an important step towards greater cultural and commercial integration between Italy and Oman, cultures rich in history and tradition.
  • A new flight between Rome Fiumicino and Mauritius has also been announced by ITA Airways. Mauritius is the dream location famous for its sapphire-coloured waters, white sandy beaches and fantastic resorts, offering a five-star experience of sea and unmissable excursions. The new flight, operated with the Airbus A330neo, will be inaugurated on 7 November and will have 2 weekly frequencies ̶ departing from Rome Fiumicino on Fridays and Sundays at 10:00 p.m. with arrival in Mauritius at 11:20 a.m. the following day or from Mauritius on Saturdays and Mondays at 10:10 p.m. and arrival in Rome Fiumicino at 6:40 a.m. the following day.
