World's Best Cities: Rome in the Olympus of the world's best cities

from 26 November 2024 to 31 March 2025

A jump of a good five positions compared to last year and Rome goes from eleventh to sixth place among the cities in the ranking of the 100 most liveable and touristically attractive world capitals of 2024 according to the authoritative publication.

In fact, as World's Best Cities reports, few cities like Rome allow its citizens or visitors to walk among millenary vestiges that never cease to amaze and enchant the world, thanks also to continuous discoveries in recent months such as the rare fourth-century gilded glass depiction of Rome, the goddess who personified the city, or the life-size marble statue of a Roman emperor dressed as Hercules, to name but a few.

Rome, however, is also liked beyond its antiquities. In fact, the report places it in the top five globally in both the Lovability and Livability indexes because it offers Romans and tourists a total experience impossible elsewhere: feeling part of everyday life and living at the rhythm of this vibrant metropolis is an opportunity not to be missed.

Such as a visit to its iconic sites, the Colosseum, the Pantheon or the Trevi Fountain in its new layout, awaiting the completion of restoration work, or Piazza di Spagna with its imposing staircase or in one of its many museums, which are inextricably linked to its monumental history.

When it comes to hospitality and food, then, the Eternal City is second to none: great hotels and starred food, but also tasty traditional food, have made it an essential stop to highlight in any travel booklet.

In short, Rome is officially counted among the world's great urban realities, thanks also to a precise strategy of major works, major events and major private investments that generate both a constant influx of visitors and an important spin-off on the economy and employment, with advantages and opportunities for a city that is constantly on the rise.

See you for the next report!
