Intense rivalries and unforgettable moments await rugby fans with the 2025 edition of the Guinness Six Nations, the most important and oldest international 15-a-side rugby tournament in the Northern Hemisphere. Founded in the late 19th century as the Home Nations Championship, the competition was initially contested only by the four teams from the British Isles (England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland). With the inclusion of France between 1910 and 1931 and then between 1947 and 1999, the tournament changed its name and became known as the Five Nations. The current name is from 2000, the year of the debut of the Italian national team, which is therefore celebrating the 25th anniversary of its first participation this year.
As is customary, each team plays every other team just once in the biggest stadiums of the six capital cities. After the debut in Edinburgh against Scotland on 1 February at Scottish Gas Murrayfield, the Italian team coached by Gonzalo Quesada and fresh from their best-ever tournament in 2024 (11 points thanks to two victories against Scotland and Wales, a draw with France and a bonus point against England) will make their home debut in the second round, facing Wales on Saturday 8 February at 15.15 the Stadio Olimpico. The other two home games scheduled on the calendar for this season will take place on Sunday 23 February, in the Latin derby against France, and on Saturday 15 March in the super-match against Ireland, winner of the tournament in 2024.
During the match days of the Six Nations, the Peroni Nastro Azzurro Terzo Tempo Village set up in the Foro Italico area is ready to host fans all day long with events, activities, music, entertainment and maxi-screens to watch the other matches.
