A new step forward in the enhancement of the city’s historical and artistic sites through artistic lighting projects: after the Pantheon, the church of Santa Maria in Trastevere and the Castle of Julius II, the mayor of Rome, the CEO of Acea and the president of the Colosseum Archaeological Park attended the inauguration of the innovative lighting system designed for the Arch of Constantine.

The new system highlights the imposing beauty of one of the most significant monuments of the city, making its architectural features and rich decoration stand out even at night. Built in 315 AD to celebrate the triumph of Constantine over Maxentius following the battle of Milvian Bridge, it is the largest Roman triumphal and a sort of Roman sculpture museum: much of its sculptural decoration consists of reliefs and statues removed from earlier important monuments dedicated to other emperors.

As for the previous projects carried out by Acea, from a technical point of view the keywords were sustainability and innovation: the lighting system features 30 latest-generation LED lights that have a drastically reduced environmental impact, reducing to a minimum the aesthetic impact of the projectors, improving the color rendering of the arch lighting and, above all, ensuring maximum energy efficiency
