The Cantarini Cantina is an osteria with a long tradition behind it. The Roman trattoria has been in existence since 1903. Opened by its founder Mariano Cantarini, it has been run by his son Raffaele since 1925 with the enthusiasm that has always distinguished the osteria, a place where appetising sandwiches were once served to Romans, accompanied by wine, beer and other drinks.
When customers began to bring their first raw foods to be cooked directly at the osteria, the kitchen began to take on a key role in the restaurant.
In 1943, at the age of 8, Mario Fattori began his work in the osteria, starting as a simple waiter before becoming the current owner in 1980.
The Roman trattoria is renowned not only for the goodness of its homemade cuisine, but also for its warm and cosy atmosphere: the décor and tables are sober but, at the same time, warm and welcoming.
