In March 1989, Marco, the third generation son of the Ciampini family, dear to the Romans for its ice creams and chocolate truffles, took over the old Cafè du Jardin in Viale Trinità dei Monti, transforming it from a simple bar into Caffè Ciampini, Bar Restaurant and Ice Cream Shop, with a splendid and welcoming veranda immersed in the greenery of the garden, perfect for an elegant working breakfast, an aperitif at sunset or a romantic dinner full of atmosphere. In the picturesque setting of Trinità dei Monti, between the Spanish Steps and Villa Medici, with an enchanting view over the rooftops of Rome, Caffè Ciampini offers moments of refined relaxation in the heart of the city centre, pleasing the eye and the palate.
In fact, the continuous culinary revolution has particularly stimulated the attention of Marco Ciampini who, with the help of his staff and chef, has created a new line of cuisine for his restaurant service. If breakfast is as it used to be, with delicious croissants to accompany the classic cappuccino, the lunch menu varies from salads to cold or hot appetisers, all freshly made, like the first courses all prepared with De Cecco pasta; the main courses are intriguing for the ways and flavours that enhance the taste: the grill with Danish meat, fresh fish which, like all other foods, is daily selected by the Chef and skilfully prepared, and, to finish, exquisite ice creams, including the not-to-be-missed Chocolate Truffle.
