One of the most anticipated events of the summer, the Village Celimontana 2024, organized by the Cotton Club in back. The event, now in its eighth edition, offers more than 100 live concerts and a rich program in the evocative setting of Villa Celimontana. The festival sees great jazz musicians, swing, manouche, rock 'n roll and some of the most important Italian bands alternating on stage.
Among the events, we remember: the entire week dedicated to great traditional jazz with the Roman Classic Jazz Festival curated by Lino Patruno, the historic Festival inside the Celimontana Village to remember jazz music together with its greatest interpreters; every Monday on the stage of the Village Celimontana we find the eclectic musician, comedian and actor Claudio Gregori, aka "Greg" with Greg every Monday, unpredictable and brilliant. On Tuesday, however, it is the turn of Swing Swing Swing, the historic evening dedicated to Swing dancing, Lindy hop, Charleston and Tip Tap; on Sundays, it is dedicated to those who love 50s rock'n'roll with I only drink rock'n'roll. The last two evenings begin with a free "first steps" lesson offered by the best dance schools in Rome followed by a concert with all the dancers on the floor.
Also worth mentioning are two mini festivals: the Gipsy mini-Festival dedicated to Django Reinhardt, where spectators find themselves projected into the ballrooms of Paris in the years preceding the Second World War and Botequim de Maria, dedicated to Tom Jobim and Bossanova with the great interpreters of Brazilian music.
Finally, as regards Village Celimontana and internationality, we cannot forget the Kisito jazz Band with their Afrojazz, Les Chats Noirs with the manouche-style chanson française, Jim Porto and his samba jazz, Nina Perersen and Norwegian jazz, Paul Ricci and Mafalda Minnozzi from Rio de Janeiro and Jean Sebastien Simonoviez, the French multi-instrumentalist who travels the world offering his great musical quality.
