Romics 2026 - 37th edition

Four days dedicated to the world of comics, animation, cinema and games, featuring new publications, national and international guests, stands run by publishers and comic book shops, video games, merchandise and autograph sessions – a major event with over 400 exhibitors across the five halls provided by Fiera Roma, covering a total exhibition space of over 70,000 square meters.

Held twice a year, the festival was launched in the autumn of 2001. The October 2026 edition offers an opportunity to celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of an event that attracts an ever-growing number of visitors, and to look to the future with the same spirit: to forge new connections, nurture talent and share a passion for the world of imagination in all its forms.

Special events, previews, screenings, presentations, exhibitions and performances enrich the program of the 37th edition of the festival. The 2026 Romics D’Oro awards will be assigned to Max Bunker (creator of Alan Ford), Paola Barbato, Sir Ian Livingstone and Stefano Bessoni, as well as Simone Legno (co-founder and creative director of the tokidoki brand) and Takeshi Koike (director and character designer for the Lupin III series). Legno and Koike are at the center of the official campaign posters.

Lupin III is also the focus of a special exhibition featuring artwork and sketches from the five films, official character profiles, official products and merchandise, and Japanese posters of the films. Other exhibitions are dedicated to Pinocchio, marking the 200th anniversary of Carlo Collodi’s birth, and to the fantastical worlds of Paolo Barbieri. A special event is the concert by Oliver Onions alongside the Animeniacs, dedicated to the soundtracks and theme tunes that have accompanied entire generations.

The Romics program also includes the Heroes International Film Festival, now in its seventh year: an event dedicated to professionals and emerging talent in the film and audiovisual industry, featuring international guests and awards, a film school, talks and preview screenings.
