The history of Roma Pride begins in 1994, the year of the first national "Gay Pride." The demonstration, attended not only by political exponents of the Capital but by Italian and European political realities, gathered the participation of over ten thousand people, obtaining a resounding success. Since then, Roma Pride has brought a courageous, multi-ethnic, and colourful march to the streets of Rome every year.
On Sunday, 15 June, a new crowded, colourful and joyful parade animated by floats, DJs and dancers is ready to cross the city from Piazza della Repubblica to Viale delle Terme di Caracalla 30 years after the first historical Italian Pride: "30 years of Pride" is the slogan of the 2024 edition that recalls the road travelled, and the direction it aims to follow, and is represented by the work of Colombian international artist Santiago Olivares better known as Sako/Asko. Like all major European Pride events, Roma Pride proposes a calendar of meetings, talks and appointments related to the LGBTQIAK+ world hosted in the Pride Croisette in Viale delle Terme di Caracalla (open from 1 to 15 June with free entrance from 6 pm to 2 am): for more information on the events scheduled at the Pride Croisette, visit the official website.
On Sunday evening, the Roma Pride Official Party, the super party powered by Muccassassina, closes the event: a tribute to Art Pop and the icons of fashion, film and music loved by the LGBT+ community with Special Guest Annalisa and BigMama.
