In Prima Persona Plurale/ In first Person Plural

The Solo/Multi section of the MACRO museum, a huge space programmatically dedicated to figures who move across disciplines, eluding attempts at classification, hosts the first organically conceived multi-voice group show, which aims to explore another facet of the exhibition as medium with an experimental approach.

The exhibition is conceived as a film set made up of artworks, music, artefacts, costumes, mirrors, performers that transport the viewer into an alternate dimension: each element acts as a character capable of activating different stories within the same scenario. The result is an alienating yet enveloping experience, our notions of reality and fiction are flipped over and the boundaries and definitions of the human, the non-human and the post-human are destabilized: a kaleidoscope of signs and emotions in which one can lose oneself and which resonate conceptually and physically with visitors.

The exhibition includes works by Gina Beavers, Alexandra Bircken, Corrado Cagli, Judy Chicago, Enzo Cucchi, Jimmy DeSana, Eliza Douglas, Wayland Flowers, Massimo Grimaldi, Duane Hanson, Mark Leckey, Nancy Lupo, Tala Madani, John Miller, Hudson Mohawke, Paul Mpagi Sepuya, Ulrike Ottinger, Lucia Pica, Francisco Sierra, Erik Thys, Gianfilippo Usellini and more.
