Museums and major exhibitions - opening at Easter and Easter Monday 2024

Roma Capitale Museums System
During the Easter holidays, the Civic Museums of Roma Capitale are open to the public, including on Easter Monday, offering visitors their rich artistic and cultural heritage.
From Thursday 28 March to Monday 1 April, the initiative Easter in the Museums returns, promoted by Roma Capitale, Assessorato alla Cultura - Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali with the organisation of Zètema Progetto Cultura.
In addition to visiting the permanent collections and the current exhibitions, it is possible to take part in visits, itineraries, workshops and didactic activities, for all ages and interests, through which to get to know the city and its history in an unusual and entertaining way.

At Easter and Easter Monday it is also possible to visit the city's archaeological areas:
the Archaeological Park of the Caelian, with the new Museum of the Forma Urbis, (Entrances Viale del Parco del Celio 20/22 - Clivo di Scauro 4)
the Sacred Area of Largo Argentina (Via di San Nicola De' Cesarini in front of number 10)
the Archaeological Area of the Circus Maximus
the Archaeological Area of the Imperial Forums (entrance from Trajan's Column).

COLOSSEUM ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK
Colosseum, Roman Forum, Palatine and Domus Aurea: open at Easter and Easter Monday with the usual opening hours from 8.30 to 19.15.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK OF OSTIA ANTICA
Easter Monday 2024 the sites of the Ostia Antica Archaeological Park are open on Monday 1 April according to the usual timetable and regular ticketing.
On this day the new opening hours of the Archaeological Area of the Ports of Claudius and Trajan (10 to 17 come into force.
The weekly closing day is postponed to Tuesday 2 April 2024 at the sites of the Archaeological Area of the Ports of Claudius and Trajan, the Necropolis of Porto on Isola Sacra and the Museum of the Ships of Fiumicino.
The Archaeological Area of Ancient Ostia and the Castle of Julius II will remain open.

APPIA ANTICA ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK
On the occasion of the Easter holidays, all the sites of the Appia Antica Archaeological Park are regularly open at the following times:
Sunday 31 March from 9 to 18.30
Monday 1 April from 9 to 19.15

NATIONAL ROMAN MUSEUM
Open at Easter and Easter Monday: Palazzo Massimo, Baths of Diocletian, Palazzo Altemps
Crypta Balbi - temporarily closed
