The Ladykillers, a comedy full of typically English humor and fun intrigues, ambiguous situations and hilarious misunderstandings, set in London in the 1950s, is on stage at the Quirino Theater. Based on the famous story by William Rose and inspired by the 1955 film of the same name by Mackendrick, it is presented in the theatrical adaptation by Mario Scaletta.
The story, full of twists and turns, tells about Professor Marcus, who lives in a rented apartment with the elderly Mrs. Louisa Wilberforce, where he meets his four friends for musical rehearsals with whom he composes a string quintet. At least this is what Mrs. Louisa believes: but in reality the five characters are criminals planning a robbery at the railway station. When the plans seem to be going well, Mrs. Wilberforce accidentally discovers the burning truth; at this point the bandits will try in various ways to eliminate the elderly landlady.
In the roles of the lively but at the same time a little absent-minded Louise Wilberforce and the mysterious Professor Marcus, we find the very talented Paola Quattrini and Giuseppe Pambieri, directed by Guglielmo Ferro.
