La Prima Festa

The summer of the younger audience gets off to a great start with ‘La Prima Festa’ (‘The First Party’), the free concert of 16 June at the Ippodromo delle Capannelle that will host some of the greatest artists on the Italian music scene, including Noemi, Ditonellapiaga, Lil Jolie, Vale LP, Pretty Solero x Titien & Gordo, Caffellatte, Shama24k, Piccolo Principe and Rondine.

‘La Prima Festa’ strategically arrives between the end of school and the beginning of the holidays and has been realised thanks to the collaboration between Roma Capitale, OtrLive and Rock in Roma, with the artistic direction of Carl Brave, headliner of the event who will close the concert with a live performance of his own.

Thanks to the collaboration of Atac, free shuttles will be available from Metro A Subaugusta, which will exceptionally remain open until 1.30 am.

But ‘La Prima Festa’ does not stop there. The event will be linked to a competition of ideas reserved for students from the Institutes of Higher Secondary Education and Universities of Rome, who, individually or in groups, will be invited to express their vision of the city through projects that can be declined in their preferred form of expression: a comic strip, a screenplay, a video or a text. The objective is to rethink the city's places and services so that they can offer more opportunities and respond to the needs of the new generations, creating a city that looks ahead and is attentive to what young people want.

The contest, promoted by the Capitoline Administration, will provide six scholarships for the winners (three for high school students and three for university students) and will start in September. The project is designed to promote the awareness and involvement of young Roman students in the definition of a model of the city in which they feel part of and responsible for. It is also an opportunity for fun and entertainment, with young people as protagonists of the evening and the future of our city.

The award ceremony will be held at the Campidoglio, in the Aula Giulio Cesare, by the end of 2024.
