The evening at the Palladium Theater of the Roma Tre Orchestra, conducted by Emanuele Marino, is dedicated to American music and composers, who have certainly influenced music all over the world over the last two centuries.
In particular, in the context of 20th century music, Gershwin is certainly one of the most important composers of the 20th century. His works, which fuse classical music with jazz in a revolutionary way, have had a deep influence. On the program is the Concert in Fa - composed in 1925 and considered one of the most significant works of the great composer - as well as the famous Rhapsody in Blue, a true classic of American music: composed in 1924 it is Gershwin's best-known work; written in a free form, the Rhapsody does not follow the traditional structure of a piano concerto. Both the Concert in Fa and the Rhapsody are proposed in new arrangements for orchestra by Emanuele Stracchi.
The evening also includes the world premiere of Emanuele Stracchi's Little Jazz Symphony, composed specifically for Roma Tre Orchestra.
Emanuele Stracchi is a young Italian composer who is making a name for himself in the national music scene and beyond. His works are very original and innovative, as well as having a deep connection with tradition. Stracchi is also a pianist and was the winner of the latest edition of the Young Artists promoted by Roma Tre Orchestra.
