
From Friday 17th to Monday 20th April 2026, IMMAGINA – International Festival of Puppet Theatre in Rome returns, the widespread festival that focuses on marionettes, puppets, shadows, object theatre and animated figures: all protagonists of a poetic and surprising universe able to speak to all ages.
The event, now in its sixth edition, involves the Teatri in Comune – Teatro Biblioteca Quarticciolo, Teatro Villa Pamphilj, Teatro Tor Bella Monaca, Teatro del Lido di Ostia – together with the MUCIV-Museum of Civilizations, the ICPI-Central Institute for the Intangible Heritage and the Spazio Rossellini (Multidisciplinary Cultural Centre of the Lazio Region), which host 10 companies with over 25 artists from 6 countries (Argentina, France, Uruguay, Estonia, Greece and Italy) who alternate with live performances, exhibitions, workshops, meetings, as well as some in-depth events related to the festival which are also held at the Roma Tre University – DAMS and the Teat Museum Library.
The event is sponsored by UNIMA Italia, the International Puppet Union.
