On the occasion of the forty years since its release, the Casa del Cinema celebrates the famous period comedy directed by Mario Monicelli, hosting the exhibition of the great stage photographer dead in 2003.
The exhibition is a journey into the most representative scenes and the funniest moments of the 1981 top-grossing movie, through 60 unreleased images carefully chosen by the photographer's daughter and granddaughter.
A true artist of the lens, Appetito, deeply attached to Alberto Sordi by esteem and camaraderie, follows the actor on the most important sets, soon becoming his photographer. The exhibition path winds through Portraits, Set and Off Set.
"I Quadri di Appetito" (Appetito's pictures), as Sordi called them, now printed on canvas and mounted on a frame, show how the photographer managed to capture light extraordinarily.
Appetito portrays the anecdotes and adventures of the Roman nobleman at the court of Pope Pius VII, a lover of laziness, taverns, secret love affair and jokes against prelates, relatives and plebeians. He perfectly catch and amplifies the work of Sergio D’Offizi, director of photography, creating a collection of 10,000 images of great artistic value.
The exhibition is part of the Rome Film Fest initiatives and is promoted by Roma Culture.
