The Four Seasons and the Concertos for strings RV 127, 151 and XI n. 4 in A major by Antonio Vivaldi are performed by the String Quintet and Harpsichord of Opera e Lirica - Elvin Dhimitri first violin - in the sumptuous Baroque setting of the Oratorio del Caravita.
The famous work The Four Seasons in particular, published in 1725 and considered by many to be the high point of the great musician's production, is actually composed of the first four solo concerts for violin of a collection of twelve known as Il Cimento dell'Armonia and dell'Inventione (Opera 8). Each of the four concerts is also divided into three movements: Allegro/Presto – Adagio/Largo - Allegro/Presto, according to a scheme adopted by Vivaldi. The concerts are also accompanied by as many descriptive sonnets, written by an anonymous poet, probably by the composer himself.
Through this work, which has become so famous, Vivaldi has been able to "give a voice" to nature through music: in fact, in the composition one has the impression of hearing the sounds of nature reproduced as they change from season to season.
