Flowers. Wonderful Nature

Following the success of the exhibition “Flowers. From the Renaissance to Artificial Intelligence”, the Chiostro del Bramante is hosting a new chapter of the same exhibition project, focusing on the theme of nature in its entirety and its ability to amaze and surprise us.

While in the first chapter the flower was at the center of the reflection as a symbolic, political and poetic element, the exhibition now broadens its focus to encompass all forms of plant and animal life, which coexist and interact in a dynamic balance within an organic and ever-changing universe. The scientific content has been reworked and enriched by the inclusion of significant new loans from prestigious Italian collections, including the Casanatense Library, the Medici Villa at Poggio a Caiano, the Museum of Still Life, the Tosio Martinengo Art Gallery in Brescia and the Civic Museum of Zoology in Rome.

The exhibition is structured around three macro-sections (Art and Ecology, Art and Science, Art and Politics) offering a journey in which historical and contemporary works enter into dialogue through a continuous interplay of references, connections and suggestions. The exhibition brings together national and international artists, ranging from the 17th and 18th centuries (with works by Margherita Caffi, Filippo Teodoro di Liagno, known as Filippo Napoletano, and Pietro Neri Scacciati) right up to the present day, including installations and works created using the latest technologies and artificial intelligence, reflecting a constant dialogue between tradition and innovation.

The exhibition includes a children’s route, with captions placed at a height suitable for children and conceived for shared reading by adults and children. One room in the exhibition is dedicated to experimentation and play: here children, under adult supervision, can freely reinterpret their visit experience by creating special flowers, conceived as lenses through which to observe the world.
