Enrico Rava Fearless Five

As part of the Summertime 2026 festival, Enrico Rava returns to the stage at the Casa del Jazz with his latest project, a “fearless” quintet composed of a new generation of musicians.

Always committed to the most diverse, creative, and stimulating experiences, Enrico Rava emerged on the music scene in the mid-1960s, quickly establishing himself as one of the most compelling soloists in European jazz – a rigorous yet unconventional musician who has toured the world performing alongside great artists such as Gato Barbieri, Steve Lacy, Cecil Taylor, Pat Metheny, and Michel Petrucciani. His lyrical and intense sound, combined with an extraordinary freshness of inspiration, continues to define every one of his projects.

The Fearless Five (“Band of the Year” in 2024 by the long-running magazine “Musica Jazz”) features a lineup of exceptionally talented young musicians. The energy of Matteo Paggi on trombone and the charisma of the extraordinary drummer and singer Evita Polidoro (both discovered by Rava at the Siena Jazz seminars) combine with Francesco Ponticelli on double bass, alongside the indispensable guitar of Francesco Diodati, who has been playing alongside Rava for about ten years and is the true linchpin of this jazz quintet.
