The anthological exhibition at Palazzo Merulana tells us about the life and works of the great Friulian poet, novelist, director, actor and playwright through the language of comics, on the occasion of the centenary of his birth.
The exhibition features more than 80 works by some of the most important names in Italian comics, taken from four graphic novels viewing Pasolini from different points, always unusual and exciting.
They are original plates, cover illustrations, preparatory sketches, unpublished drawings and prints of the comic books Pasolini by Davide Toffolo, Pasolini 1964 by Giuseppe Palumbo, Diario segreto di Pasolini (Pasolini’s secret diary) by Elettra Stamboulis and Gianluca Costantini and Il delitto Pasolini (Pasolini’s murder) by Gianluca Maconi.
The exhibition itinerary is enriched by some short stories by Massimo Giacon and Danilo Maramotti and by a series of illustrations and portraits by Milo Manara, Andrea Serio, Francesco Ripoli, Leila Mazzocchi and Alice Iuri. As a corollary to the project, we point out a review of weekly appointments - every Thursday afternoon at Palazzo Merulana - with some of the authors on show who meet the public in presence.
Curated by Stefano Piccoli, the exhibition, is produced by ARF! Festival, in collaboration with CoopCulture with the support of the Lazio Region. The care of the texts of the exhibition is due to Elettra Stamboulis.
