In the enchanting setting of the Castle of Julius II, in the village of Ostia Antica, jazz takes stage this summer with the Castle in Jazz initiative. Thanks to the collaboration between the Ostia Antica Archaeological Park and the Maccarese Saxophone Museum, the sounds of jazz and swing will liven up Saturday evenings.
Every Saturday in July in fact, and then from September 6th to December 27th, 2025, the Castle of Julius II will extend its opening hours to the public from 7:30 pm to 11:00 pm, with free admission, offering, also free of charge, Castle in Jazz: a series of jazz concerts every Saturday (except September 27th).
Admission is free until all 70 seats are filled. Reservations are not required, but you can pick up a reservation ticket starting at 6:30 PM on Saturday at the Castle entrance. Ticket holders can enter the Castle at 7:35 PM and, while waiting for the 9:00 PM concert, can tour the grand staircase and the Papal Chambers and Keep and enjoy also the cocktail bar.
