Steve Hackett returns to Rome with the music that made progressive rock history. On Tuesday 17 November 2026, the British guitarist will take to the stage at the Teatro Brancaccio with The Best of Genesis & Solo Gems, a show spanning the repertoire of the legendary English band and his solo career.
Having joined the band in 1971, Hackett helped shape the Genesis sound during one of the most creative periods in their history, contributing to landmark albums such as Nursery Cryme, Foxtrot, Selling England by the Pound, The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway and Wind & Wuthering. His style, combining technical mastery, melodic sensitivity and experimentation, helped forge a distinctive guitar language that became an integral part of the band's musical identity.
With The Best of Genesis & Solo Gems, Hackett brings together Genesis classics and highlights from his solo catalogue. The set spans different eras and musical moods, from intricate instrumental passages and more intimate moments to powerful electric sounds, showcasing the richness of a musical universe that continues to resonate with generations of listeners.
The 2026 Italian tour also brings exciting changes to Hackett's live band. The guitarist has announced the arrival of Lalle Larsson, the Swedish keyboard virtuoso who takes over from Roger King, Hackett's long-standing collaborator, and German drummer Felix Lehrmann, who replaces Craig Blundell. Both newcomers are set to bring their own character to the arrangements and the live performance. They will be joined by Jonas Reingold on bass and backing vocals, Nad Sylvan on vocals, and Rob Townsend on saxophone, flutes and additional keyboards.
Hackett's guitar remains the guiding thread throughout this musical journey. From the evocative soundscapes of 1970s progressive rock to the explorations of his solo career, his playing continues to stand out for its elegance, inventiveness and evocative power.
